I had recently bought IFB Senorita DX washing machine (at Bangalore). The dealer promised installation would take place within 48 hours. Promptly, an IFB service-person called me to fix an appointment for installation. Since I don't reach home until 5 PM everyday, I requested installation after 5 PM. However, the person said that they don't do any installation after 5 PM. No appointment was set. The next day, I called again to end the standoff, but nothing happened.
Sensing a problem (even in future), I called up the dealer and explained the problem. The dealer was helpful enough to inform IFB that installation should take place at customer convenience, even if it meant after 5 PM.
The next day, I found a visit card by my doorstep. It said "visited 5:15 - 6:15 PM". Amazing - no doorbell, no phone call - nothing! And all the time, I was in the house.
The next day, I called up IFB again about the visit card and inquired why the person did not call me or even ring the doorbell. I found arrogant replies - "We do not call from our personal phones", "We will come again tomorrow - but only before 5 PM - we cannot service after that" etc. etc.
I had enough - should I live with this terrible badmouthing service people for the next five years or more, that too after spending Rs. 20, 000? No way! I called up my dealer and asked for a different brand of washing machine. I got my replacement, good riddance to IFB! ps: The replacement machine of a different brand was installed the day after delivery - **after 6:00 PM.
