Kudos India-Twenty20 World Cup

The Indians bring home the Cup after 24 years. It makes for a sentimental issue for the Indians whilst the true lovers of the sport regard it as a massive win. To quote Gavaskar "Pakistan always have been a competitor for India whenever we think of good cricket". Certainly the comment was diplomatic and shunned the feeling of most Indians(as Rameez Raza was seated just beside Gavaskar, the comment didn't show on the signs of pleasure on his face) But History repeats itself. Pakistan, no matter how potential threat it poses to the Indians, have never been able to sustain a victory against India in any relevant World Cup(Finals) match.

Its only proved once again. Someone said Twenty20 being a small and a less important format, does not carry India's victory to the top notch. I disagree and oppose strongly. In fact, it posed new threats and challenged to the new and certainly the more vulnerable team as they had a lot more responsibility in lesser time. Certainly the Twenty20 slot makes them even more worthy of the winning title! After the Team failed to qualify in Top8s in last world cup, the reshuffling of the players made much more sense.

This, in my opinion was the savior for Team India. While the new players were much more open to the new concept, it was indispensable to make the Indians show and prove that India is worth a title prestigious as the World Champions without ace players like Sachin, Dravid and of course the useless Ganguly.
