I don't know why people are so crazy about Flury's cakes n pastries!
It looks stale, tastes stale, they don't use enough butter to make it soft .
I remember when I worked at The Park. We ordered cakes from Kathelein, instead of Flury's. Although it was bang opposite to The Park Hotel!
They are just surviving on reputation - that's all. And mind you, the pastries are quite expensive! Rs70/- per price for a stale cake!
I did the blunder of buying yesterday as they have opened a new shop in Salt Lake. Thinking they might have improved. But no! The same old dry and stale tasting stuff. Same taste as it was in 1998!
Even a local Jolojog can give it Competition!
Here we go again! The same stale look, feel, taste. This time black forest. Even kindergarten bakery students make softer black forest cakes. Really - old is not gold always. It can be stale and rotten at times!
