If you are cruising through the pompous streets of Kolkata, Flurys for sure will call out for your attention. Besides, for people who have a sweet tooth and like to settle for nothing but the best, Flurys is the place to be. Located on plush Park Street, it just can’t go amiss if you keep your eyes and of course your nose buds working.
Founded in 1927, Flurys have witnessed ages of perfect merry making and have won accolades for the perfect recipe to make the cakes (notwithstanding the pastries) melt in your mouth. At Flurys, you are invited for the best possible saga of puddings and assorted Swiss chocolates. They have much more to offer than their menu splurging from extra ordinary confectioneries. You are promised a quality tea time (lunch and dinner too if you are not the typical Dal Makhni and Kadai Paneer type) with anyone from your fiancée to your dear mom. Just don’t forget to take your wallet thick.
Despite being the ideal hub for aristocrats for years now, Flurys shocked me when it came to providing service. One really needs to have a robust frame to draw the attention of the not-so-busy waiters. The tables seemed to have wiped some week back, glasses being refilled (of water) after three loud calls, and the empty salt container was a little hard to digest.
All in all, if you are enduring enough with the service providers and have an eye for a superlative ambience, Flurys warrants a mention certainly.
