I wanted to give some item as a gift and thought of selecting something that's both pricey but won't dent the purse too much. I visited DLF Emporio Mall with a friend. Now from all the designer brands, only the international luxury brands have more gift-able items like belts, wallets, watches among other things. All the other shops like Gucci, LV, Burberry - all had products so high priced that we had to exit pretending we didn't like the products. Finally we landed in Emporio Armani. Thankfully there were things which we could think of buying.
Out here though most of the apparels and accessories are not the kind that are impressive or give you that'luxury' look. They have very ordinary looking shirts and apparels with the only luxury in those is the price tag running to 6 digits. It is pertinent to mention that the attendants don't really bother to seem friendly or want to help with your purchase.
After looking at wallets, some of which were again going to 6 digit figures. We finally decided to buy a pair of cuff links. After finalising one, we went to the billing counter. The box as well as the product itself had marks and fingerprints and I requested the woman there to kindly clean that before packing. She made a face and barely bothered to wipe it out. Just pretended to rub off the marks with her own fingers rather than using a sponge or something and didn't even make eye contact and just passed it over to the man who was punching in the details for the bill.
We didn't want to argue as we were already tired after going to so many outlets. People who know about DLF Emporio Mall can understand it is a very vast campus and by the time a person is done shopping they will be tired of all the walking, especially in Delhi summers.
So we just paid the bill and left thinking we could ourselves use some glass cleaner and give it some buffing up before handing it as a gift.
A very disappointing experience, especially being the first visit.
