DTDC in Tripura - Poor Courier service!. Review on DTDC Courier

DTDC is a famous courier service company in India. They have branches, pick up service almost everywhere. The service was quite good I heard - reputation is good for delivering on time.

First time:

I chose their plus service to send some of my official papers urgently to one of our client in Agartala, Tripura. They assured me that the courier will reach on the next day itself. But, 4/5 days later the client was calling me that they had not receive the same yet! I immediately checked the status online & it was showing in transit. And from details I came to know that the papers is at Agartala deliver center then which they haven't delivered!

I found the franchisee mobile number(?!!) from the site and when I called them to ask to deliver the same, they did not respond well and I must say they do not have any system of working. They said that the address written in my packet is far & they will deliver it on the next day.

And to my utter shock, After almost 10 to 12 days my client called me again saying the same. Now, it was insane. I called them up & shouted on them. Hearing my allegations, the employee who received the phone, passed it to other & the next one did the same. The last one said that they were extremely sorry but my packet got lost in many others, they can send the same back within 2 days. I disagreed & gave them the detail & consignment number to find it out & keep it safe. I send our office representative on the next morning ultimately to pick the packet from the franchisee. This way my courier reached to the destination!!!

Second time:

The local pick up man who is well-known to me, came to me & assured that was absolutely unfortunate & will never happen again. But within months the same thing happened with the same franchisee. I vowed this time: I will send my important documents by Indian Registered Post but not through courier. At least my packet will reach to the destination, though late.

My view:

The same DTDC people fetch me couriers from Silchar, Assam & Delhi, Mumbai within 2 days. I sent courier to Patna which reached on the next day, sent couriers within Kolkata, at Mumbai, Delhi, Pune which reached on the very next day.

So, the whole service is not that bad. I dealt with the franchisee in Tripura is my saddest experience while sending couriers. That particular franchisee is very much unprofessional. Does not know how to talk to client, avoided their responsibility & importance to deliver safe, have no systematic working culture & they seems like they does not care whether your courier reached on time. Be careful DTDC, otherwise franchisees like this will destroy your reputation!
