My name is Prashakth Kamath & I am from Mumbai.I signed up for Mouthshut just today.
Since mouthshut is a famous portal known for its consumer reviews, I too as a consumer wanted to write a review and found the movie "Dasvidaniya" the apt topic for my first review.
Dasvidaniya was released in 2008, It is a bitter-sweet situational comedy about a man Amar Kaul (Vinay Pathak).The movie starts with Amar Kaul who lives a mediocre life & is obsessed for making his daily 'TO-DO LIST' every morning.
One day he comes to know that he is suffering from Stomach Cancer and has limited time to live & then begins a journey of a lifetime for Amar Kaul, where he sets out to write the 'List of 10 Things To Do Before He Dies'. The list that would make his life worthy, before it actually ends.
It's a roller coaster comic ride with Amar, who symbolises people caught in the web of life, always wanting to do the simplest of things but put them on hold.
“Dasvidaniya” talks about that one realisation which is required to put things in perspective and understand the real meaning of one's life.
Highlight of the Movie :-
~ The Song that Amar Kaul(Vinay Pathak) dedicates to his mother "Pyaari Maa, Mama"
~ The Scene where Vinay Pathak proposes Neha Dhupia
~ Ending scene which shows Vinay Pathak's photo in newspaper
Its a movie which by its sheer simplicity teaches us that Life is a precious gift and we should live life to its fullest.We should celebrate every moment of live.
Its sad that this movie did not do well in the box office because of poor marketing and promotions.
Nevertheless I would still recommend this movie for everyone as it is worth watching.
