The last dayof Ganesh festival in Mumbai could be a nightmare for any other country. I am sure USA would have gone bonkers organising the security and I really do not think they would have been able to manage something of such gargantuan proportion as the immersion of Ganesha in Mumbai.
I feel, despite the bomb blasts just 2 weeks back, the manner in which the whole thing was managed by the Mumbai police force is amazing. Three cheers to them!!
The Mumbai Police force is, I think a very demoralised lot. I think a proper pay, habitable home, good education for the children, all these would go a long way in boosting their morale. The living conditions of these cops of Mumbai is pathetic to say the least. I think not everyone can become a cop. U really need to be a different kind of a human being to lead such a life, a thankless life.
Lets not get into corruption and all that. There are enough movies abt them.
But I think we as citizens, should atleast start by praising them whenever the situation arises. Look at the way in which CNN built up the morale of the fire fighters. Undoubtedly, they did a remarkable job, but then so do our police force.
the media can actually go a long way in building up the image and boosting their morales. Unfortunately, that is never done by the media.
Anyway, good work by the Mumbai police force and more power to them!
