I guess the copy cat syndrome has taken on a new meaning all together. It used to be just Anu Mallik who was known for copycat-ism(if that’s a word) but Sony has now taken over.

Move over boys…Bigg Boss is here to stay and life will not be the same.

Despite being extremely skeptical about it, I found myself ridiculously intrigued by this programme on many a week nights….and even though I missed quite a few episodes, I think I got most of the “good ones”

The basic plot is that 13 participants would be locked into this house. The House presents them many tasks and they have to do most of them in a group. If they succeed they get rewarded. They also get supplies for the house through these tasks. No chore was menial enough or above anyone. They had to wash their clothes and cook etc etc… I bet they had a new respect for their house help post bigg boss. Team building took on a new meaning all together. It was fun seeing some of the antics and life for that one hour every week night truly was not the same.

Here are my comments on the participants:

1)Rupali Ganguli:-

Before I saw her in the Bigg Boss House, I had never heard of her. Her tears and melodrama were just painful and I was very happy that she got evicted…one more tear and they would need to drain the pool…most of the water in the pool were here tears! She cried NON-STOP! And most of the time because she was actually lusting after Ravi kishen(eek!) who was lusting after Carol!

2)Carol Gracias:-

From her artificial laugh and smiles to her appalling hindi – she was a mis-fit from the start! I can’t believe she stuck it out till the end! I’m convinced that people kept her in the house because they didn’t vot e for her… the usual thing is that you send an sms for someone you like…. That’s the only thing I can think of!

3)Ragini Shetty;-

Who? I had NO idea who she was and I still don’t.

4)Bobby Darling:-

I don’t know why the person even tries. Doesn't he/she realize that the ONLY reason why the Indian film industry is accepting him/her is because he/she is such a freak! I just wish he's get his darn operation and then come into the industry.as a man or a woman - but a whole person. The sheer desperation shows and its so sad. The fact that he’s trapped in a male body but is actually a female at heart did nothing for the Indian audience. Although I think they should have let him/her stay on longer – I felt the bitchiness of the woman in him was not allowed to emerge.

5)Kashmera Shah:-

Man…  She gives conniving, scheming, manipulative and down right bitchiness a new meaning! She played the game from the start and continued when she came back into the house as a guest. But one thing is for sure – she definitely gave the house a breath of bitchy air! You couldn’t help but love to hate her.

6)Anupama Verma:-

I was given to understand that blondes were the dumb ones. Man was I under the wrong impression. She had sucker writ all over her. In the beginning I got taken in by Aryan’s overtures but saw through his game very soon. Anupama did get her’s back though – on the grand finale day she was very poised, although a bit emotional, when she said that she didn’t know that people in the house were playing with each others feelings. I think she is just a simple bimbette who got taken in by the charms of a vile and frankly ugly idiot.

7)Rakhi Sawant;-

If there was one reason I watched this show it was her. Despite the fact that she came off as crude many times and that she was naïve and didn’t understand all sorts o relationships very well…her frankness and her sheer entertainment value was just awesome. Although I found the whole Amit Sadh episode really weird. She liked him, he liked neeru(sigh.—this should have been called Bigg Triangle not Bigg Boss) and when she realized that she wasn’t going to get him, she suddenly proclaimed undying love for some random guy called Abhishek! Sigh… but anyway, despite this, I was secretly wishing that she won! She got evicted in the first few weeks but came back int the house by public demand. I can say this – she was simply the best. Crude or not – she was “time vassol” through and through.

8) Deepak Tijori –

Since Salil Ankola was booted they got him in. I completely missed what happened with this guy…these are the episodes I chose to go away on Christmas Break so I really can’t comment on what he did or didn’t do

9)Deepak Parashar:-

The fact that this complete “has been “ decided to come into a house and live with people half if not more his age was proof enough how desperate this guy really is. He assumed this father figure role which noone bought and basically got ousted very very early in the game. He was known as Nightywalle Baba as he used to wear these weird kaftan’s in the house. We didn’t miss much when he left.

10)Ravi Kishen:-

I tell you. I hated this man. From the core of my heart. Firstly he looks like a toad. He speaks in this bizarre accent and was the biggest lech of them all. I was elated when they gave him hope that he would actually win and then he got ousted on the grand finale day. He was so blatantly a fake…and I pity his wife. Rakhi Sawant was right through and through…. He was a horrid guy who deserved to be locked away…I only wish they had thrown away the key!

11)Amit Sadh;-

Again – like Ragini Shetty…. Who is Amit Sadh? And OH MY GODDD his constant whining about his girlfriend Neeru was just unbearable. I was very happy when he got ousted…although he stuck on till the last month….

12)Aryan Vaid:-

The funny thing is I know this guy. He used to be in Dadar Catering College and he did his Hotel Management. No one knew him then and no one knows him now. Although I do remember him being a complete pest in college to a lot of girls…I thankfully was never at the receiving end of his “charms”  I saw through this guy from the start…No one knew him and the only way he had any hope of staying in the house was if he started something with Anupama(who to him would be the only acceptable person to start anything with) I knew that the minute he was ousted from the house, he would just dump her like a ton of bricks…and he did. If Anupama’s demeanor was anything to go by on the grand finale day – Aryan boy – You are history.

13)Rahul Roy:-

His claim to fame was "Aashiqi" that was released in 1990. I found him to be extremely patronizing and boring and was not happy at all that he won. Each and every moment of his was planned and thought out. And the Sarpanch role that he played  thing was just -aaaargggh! But I guess his strategy worked! He walked off into the Karjat sunset 50 lakh rupees richer.

Arshad Warsi:

A good presenter. I thought he did a good job and it was a pleasant change to see him do something other than a tapori role. I hope he continues to host shows – he’s pretty good!

I hope they do come up with Bigg Boss 2 but I hope they have better players the second time round…haha…maybe they should invite Goody…give her a taste of Indian Chicken Curry!
