I was sure at the first promo itself that this movie was meant to be a BLOCKBUSTER stuff and how!
The movie putting up the story of India's pride, Milkha Singh, the flying sikh, has come out beautifully. Starting with the army story of how Milkha moved towards sprinting and what he went through in his childhood turned him into. A Sikh from Pakistan based family before partition who eventually is forced out of the place and left solitary at the discourse of India where his elder sister brings him up. He just is surviving until his lady love "Biro" arrives and evokes him to do something for a better future, which leads him to Indian Army. Amidst the discipline, him and his fellow mates enjoy and have fun which in turn gives him a chance to be a athlete. And thus is born Milkha Singh.
About the characters, FARHAN'S by far the best act and indeed a class apart. You just cannot take eyes off him. Every emotion, every drama. The last of the moments of the race winning just got me goosebumps. And the way he was entitled "The Flying Sikh", I just had a very very proud feeling. He was dynamic and undoubtedly the POWERHOUSE PERFORMER.
Apart from him, the coach essayed by Pavan Malhotra is amazing. His grip of the character and seamless performance stands out. Prakash Raj did his part well, though I wanted him to be more a part of the film. Sonam Kapoor as Biro is beautiful, more of a cameo kinda role, she enthrals by her decent beauty.
All and all, I was bowled over. I would surely recommend this to see what an act Farhan can put up. His skills were never doubted, but he surely has given enough of them here for you to have a treat watching.
Thumbs up and Kudos!
