i was sixteen when the the pulsar twins were launched in India, and boy at that time it made a huge impact on us, with the big huge tank including a macho feeling; the retro handling and the style which said its ''ITS DEFINITELY MALE''attached to it in the advertisements of the yore; at that time ads played a significant role in selling these bikes and boy, was it fun to watch those ads with awe stuck eyeballs stuck at the idiot box of a teenager who wanted a bike so madly that he made the lives of his parents a living hell (it was me).

although the bike cbz gathered interest in me like a obsession, it were the pulsars that made me mad about bikes, and after reading the overdrive magazines I became a ardent reader of these magazines, at that time my father used to think where he gets the money from to buy these magazines, because I was buying 4 of them every month.i knew so much about bikes as none other , within my friends knew, and of course it really helped my English to improve and work a bit more on my vacubalary.

But let me tell u something about the pulsar 150, after all this review is about the bike not the bike magazines that I loved so much; first things first;did u knew that the handling of these bikes never known to be better then the cbz of those times but what rocketed its sells figure shoot out the roof of a sells chart was its definitely male image and better mileage of 40-km pl and really affordable

maintainable costs; and to mention a fact here the durability and reliability was a mile or two ahead of cbz; at that time cbz was encountring serious reliabilty issues , like sudden loss of combustion and all.

today pulsar is still the best seller in the premium 150 segmentfor the past 10 years or so; till to this date nobody has been able to dethrone its place as the no.1 bike, no matter, for many years, nearly every bike manufacturer has tried there hands at this segment to make pulsar beater, they failed to make an impact. this bike is so famous around the world that even the Europeans ans Americans have them in there garages as a fuel efficient and Eco friendly bikes;to them its a small engine bike with optimum performance with a high mileage output with little or no maintainance. Are not these kind of things makes us proud as Indians.

the bike that my brother is having for the last two years in his hold is pulas dtsi 150, and still doing a good job of getting him girls around him cause I just no why this species find these pulsar guys so sexy!?,the handling is not as ensuring as my unicorn and not as comfortable for long rides as mine, but boy it does gives me that great anderline rush but looses out its breath to the top speed which is not the case with my uni, and I dont know why? although this is the third pulsar in our family , I still dont fell secure as much as on uni, but in agra very few people like unicorn here , as here the pulsar rules the roost and its a craze here owning this bike.

let me tell u somethingabout the pros and cons of this bike (may this enlighten u a bit more)

pros of male biking

(1)its now a 149.1 cc bike, an upgrade from a 143 cc but with two plugs for efficient combustion, (may be they just copied the unicorns engine totally becauese it has the same displacement for the last six years)

(2)the bike has a very macho fuel tankof 15 litres down from 18 litres ,it sure gives u a very manly and sporty feel

(3)the bike is shoded with 17 inches tyres for that great handling(not as great as the uni or the hunk) and for great drivability in the city but hampers the top speed of the bike, but tell me one guy who would be doing three digit run all the time!!!

(4)this bike gives a u feeling of a great car on two wheelscause of the orange back lit speedometer and all lit up switch gears and all, great beauty and the switch gears give u feeling of long lasting feeling... really update (both of these absent on my bike....GROSS)

(5)Great resale value in Agra , dont know about rest of India

cons of male biking(lets talk about this, shall we)

(1)this bike can give a roller coaster ride if u expected something like karizma;the handling is still not like the ten years old cbz, let alone hunk or unicorn, the bike is very front heavy, this is not the case with the Honda.

(2)i wish the refinement of this bike could have been better if not as refined as hunk or the very famous smooth operator unicorn, thats silky (total malai).the vibrations creeps into the handlebars and foot pegs and irritates like hell (good for diabetics......joking)

(3)its no sofa on two wheels, for that u have karizma and unicorn, even a trip to mathura causes me extreme shoulder and wrist pain, though the ride quality is the best among the bikes , the seat is not very accommodating; want a buttchahe? u have chosen the right bike for your iron butt.!

(4)the bad boy image attached to it may lureu but it may lure u to a nearest police station for inquiry as well, as we all know , most crimes on two wheels r committed on the black pulsars, just like in the 80's it was chetak for terrorists. the positive side, nobody messes up with u and u always get the girls after all its a rare female who would resist the temptation of a bad boy for once in a while no matter she dreams of getting married to a nice family boy..........ouch!!! does this fact hurts u? oh I am so sorry :)

to sum it up, u wont go wrong with this bike;with those wolf aggressive eyes as pilot lamps as the most attractive lamps ever, that lovely clatter of a twin spark of the engine and exhaust note is a music to all of us,this bike suits every one below 5 feet 10 inches and can make u feel like a stud , even if u r 4 feet 11 inches (believe me, I have observed this a lot) ; and i am sure u sure gonna enjoy enjoy those girly company that we all crave for (not much look at my silent and obedient uni.......damn.......hitting the table with anger and frustration......i can always borrow this from my bro or just snatch it away like I used when we were kids!!!) and of course the plush ride quality of the bike is really rewarding, and to tell tell u a fact, u can buy this bike on the same day as u want to unlike for uni for that u may have to wait for six months or even a year, but u wont get world class handling or the enjoyment of silky refinement or ....even the fun of a no problem type reliability u get with the uni that has a unflinching reliability to be proud of, and if u r planning 500km trip please take a bus or a train or be just ready for butt-ache ;after all u r definitely male aren't u

thanks u all MS members for reading my review and have very happy new year full of love, accomplishments and hopes .
