Athiti tum kab jaoge directed by debutant director ashwini dhir remind us of all those old clean classics made by great directors like hrishikesh mukherjee when people with thier entire family used to go to cinema hall and would come out with a pleasant smile ! :) this says it all that how good the movie is!
The movie starts with a working couple ajay and konkana and they have a cute little kid! They are all veryhappy in their sweet little family! Ajay is a script writer who usually writessenseless scripts but is successful and konkana is an interior designer ! The problem arises when an athiti (paresh rawal) which means a guest comes into their lives all of a sudden ! And thier lives go topsy turvy!
The guest is a very orthodox guy a typical villager basically with old traditional values but he's a very kind hearted person with a poor disgestive system! :p
he farts every second, would want to eat various varieties of food , would interupt inajays work , would wake them up at 5.00 a.m in the morning to gargle , would causehassels in thier professional life unintentionally that it, and to top it all the biggest crime that he does is make the maid leave the job (you know important a maid is in a woman's life) :p
tired of all this konkana and ajay make wierd schemes to get rid of this athiti which always backfires and puts them in different kinds of trouble , they even go to jail coz of these tactics of thiers lol! :p but thier kid loves the athiti and also tries to behave like him and learns all the mantra's .
Latter things turn really good for them cause of this unwanted guest who had earlierfrustrated them that where the emotional angle comes in the movie! There is also atwist in the movie in the end which i wont reveal here!
Direction - i just couldnt believe the movie is directed by a debutant director , its just so well made . It can be clearly seen that the director exactly knew what he wanted and he had done his homework!
Production - the movie is produced by amita pathak who is a daugther of renowned producer kumar mangat.
Cinematography - the movie is really well shot! No set in the movie looks over the top , and the camera angles in the movie is plain but has really got the niche of a professional.
Music - the music by pritam is amazing i especially loved that bhajan song which had the music of beedi jaliyle ! Lol :p
why to watch this movie??????
Ajay and konkana look perfect as thier working upper class couple infact they dont have a romantic angle but still they look great together!
Paresh rawal steals the show totally infact i think after hera pheri this is his best performance in comical role!
The movie's songs fit in aptly and the title track is different but so catchy!
It's a very sweet film and you would have a smile all through the movie!
It's is shot amazingly well! The cinematography is super amazing.
The movie is a very clean movie you can watch it with your grandparents too, in fact this movie should be watched with your kids who would learn the real meaning of this Sanskrit saying - athiti devo bhava (guest is god).
Why you shouldn't watch this movie?????
There's no such reasons you shouldn't watch it just go for it! In fact the only problem with movie is in the later half it just gets a bit long and stretched . A few editing here and there could have helped but still the movie is simply amazing go watch it!
At the box office the movie has earned 22 crores the first week itself and had been proved to be a hit. Such movies comes rarely so just go there sit back and enjoy this movie now!
