Amrita Kesini Hair Oil claims to provide stress free sleep. It is a formulation of six herbs traditionally used to relieve tension, cool the scalp and fight graying. It does not feel greasy and is non- sticky. Hibiscus rosa sinensis enhances hair growth and prevents hair loss. Hibiscus contains vitamin C, so say the claims, and is cooling while aloe barbadensis nourishes the hair and scalp and is anti inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal. Brahmi is good for hair growth. Bacopa monnieri cools the scalp and eclipta alba or'bhringraj' prevents premature greying. Terminalia chebula or ‘haritaki’ is antimicrobial and antibacterial. The other ingredients are cocos nucifera(coconut) and some light mineral oil, says the bottle. Permitted colour and fragrance are also noted and one could have probably done without the former while the latter is quite nice indeed.
Recently, I rediscovered the bottle which I had put away during winter and used a bit on my hair after a shampoo. It really gently detangled my rough hair and made it satiny and manageable.
