I travelled to Delhi via flight I5 330 , confirmation number D374FM on 29 may 2024.
I had an onward international flight with air India to new york( AI 101) on 30 may 2024.
I booked for four members to Delhi , one passenger did not travel with me that day so I didn’t web checkin for her, so that airline could give it different passenger and they did. By mistake I booked for cabin baggage only, and airline staff charged me extra 4100 rs for checkin baggage. All airlines allow checkin baggage of 15 kg by default. Also the flight was late by 30 mins. And she gave non recliner 31 number sheet!!
My concern is DGCA should not allow this cheating by Airlines to unsuspecting customers. People who are going for onward journey to international flight should be allowed extra baggage Upto 25 kg in domestic flights also.
I had choice to book indigo or Airindia flight for same journey. I booked air India express thinking it to be owned by TATA. Now I feel I could have booked indigo and saved some money.
I mean how much extra fuel airline will save by not allowing check in baggage for such short trip.
