Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani-A heady, colorful cocktail but then an IMFL(indian made foreign liquor) mix.Tastes good in parts but needs side dishes like ranbir nd pritam :-)with deepika as a pickle!
The trend of "coming of age"movies continues...bit of semblance to ZNMD, love aajkal, my bro's bride, tanu weds manu...largely mounted canvas, witty lines nd the energy of RK makes this a bearable watch (Sorry Taran adarsh not a 4 Star...oops it has to be na)
Kudos to brilliant DOP by mani.Watch the colors flow n the holi song, Pritams "not so inspired"pieces. bathameez dil, balam pichkaari, soulful sufi fakeera.Tremendous kalki nd Aditya. Ayan continues the wake up sid syndrome of "in search or pursuit of happiness or pleasures"with a KJO production house feel.
Stellar scenes thou-rooh afza episodes, father son bonding and a eclectic final few mins!
BTW RK nd Deeps share an electrical chemistry, the twinkle n their eyes, pain, the cute kisses looks so very real. They have lived it in reel life.
Finally Ranbir seems has arrived (barfi was gud too)...looks dapper, dancing has become wow, the twang n his tone and that bewitching smile...go njoi this deewange
Would have given one more if not for the kabhi slow screenplay and not so many inspired movie me too's
Phir bhi time pass post the IPL which stretched for 2 months, then the scandal...this colorful movie came as a rainbow. Suggest not to go for a night show post a stressful day as the "yawn factor" is more in such a mood!
