You won't have any problems locating the beef patty on a hamburger from Wendy's! I've seen them shrink over the years at other fast food places but Wendy's doesn't shrink thier burgers AND raise the price. Does this sound familiar? Hello....Welcome to Wendy's, May I Take Your Order Please?
Wendy's has not only hamburgers and cheeseburgers on the menu but salads, chilli, chips and chilli, and baked potatoes with toppings. They also offer specialty burgers for limited time offers such as Bacon Mushroom or the Cheddar Melt. Did I mention that Wendy's burgers are not round but square? This is their trademark for good, quality burgers.
My favorite quick lunch from Wendy's consists of the broccoli and cheese potato ($1.99) and a small tossed green salad($.99). You can't beat it for just under $3.00. Can you tell I like simple things??
Wendy's has a Budget Menu which is great for my area where I work. I work at the local University (Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and it is quite popular with the students. Their $.99 menu consists of following items:
Double Stack Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger Deluxe, Bacon Cheeseburger, Baked Potato with Chives, Chilli, Chilli with Chips& Cheese, Side Salad (small tossed salad), Frosty (frozen chocolate desert) and medium french fries.
They also have great Meal Deals. The Classic Combo consists of a dressed hamburger, french fries and soft drink. You can get a Double Classic, or Triple Classic as well, depending on your appetite. My husband loves these items. As I said before, the burgers are more filling here at Wendys and therefore more satisfying to men especially. Prices range from $3.59 for the Classic all the way to $4.99 for other selections. I find the burgers are not greasy like McDonalds and lots more filling.
The dining room at Wendy's has always been spotless on my visits. This is something to be said for any eating establishment in a campus environment. They are always busy and I can't say the competitors across the road keep their dining areas half as clean as Wendy's.
Service inside is sometimes slow at peak lunch times but they seem to have everything organized and the wait is not as long as you would think when looking at the line. The drive thru is very fast, you seldom have to wait longer than five minutes from the time you enter the drive thru to picking up your order at the window.
Hours are extended on weekends giving you until 2 am to use the drive thru. The dining room inside is however closed.
And how can you not like Wendy's all-time favorite commercial with the little old lady saying....''WHERE'S THE BEEF''?????? Sorry, I just had to mention that...it is one of MY favorite TV commercials.
Overall, I give Wendy's an A++ for good and tasty food, convenience, good service and a clean dining area. Now can you please tell me ''Where's the BEEF''?
