Prepaid SIM doesn't work here so ensure you have postpaid SIM or check with your travel agency of they can provide a SIM on temporary basis if you have a prepaid SIM
Hotels
If you are opting for breakfast and dinner don't expect much, the menu would be the same each day
Check for the wifi service, hot water supply timings beforehand they are not either avilable or not 24/7
Sightseeing
This is where the actual problem is locals here will try to cash on as much as they can nothing is regulated here. They will come up with inflated prices and will be after you like anything you will need to be a good negotiator. Example if they come up with Rs. 5000 then start with 1000 or even less just move on if they're not in agreement.
Be very clear on whatever the price you agreed.
The sad part is you will end up spending time negotiating rather then enjoy the beauty of the valley.
Important note: Speak to your travel agency on the approximate estimation of other costs apart from package
So in my case it was 15000 per head including breakfast and dinner for 6 days 7 nights
I ended up paying another 15000 for other activities which is not part of package.
Your travel agency will not tell you this as it would be up to you whether you want to opt other activities but keep this in mind.
Overall Kashmir is an heavenly place to visit but keep a check on your expenses and budget.
