The staff was attentive, courteous and discreet. The rooms were fine- but unmemorable, especially given the price tag. For some reason, Udaipur is the place for rich folks to throw obscenely loud wedding parties-so if you are unlucky, be prepared to listen to 80's Bollywood songs all night.
Within the premises, there is a lakeside restaurant with beautiful views- a great place to splurge for dinner with limited but interesting fare. There is also beautiful bar with Italian marble floors, exquisite chandeliers and Victorian style paintings of the past Maharajahs-a perfect place for a nightcap. There is an old bartender(now retired, but stayed on at the request of the current Maharajah) who serves there- a jewel of a person with millions of interesting stories of days gone by.
