I had mixed experience surfing Reliance Netconnect services using my Nokia 2112 - I got good reception, but I also got fleeced good - by that I mean, that all my money just vanished into thin air even without surfing.
So, to curtail this unexplained billing I opted for the Data Card - it was an enticing offer - 2 months free usage for a card that costs Rs.3, 370 - well they advertise a misleading price of Rs. 2, 800 or so - but they charge extra for a connection and some airtime.
I applied for it - went back and forth at least 15 times to the Web World to get it started and finally when it started, even though the signal showed me all the bars - the reception [bitrate] fluctuated and still does.
The whole experience has been a raw deal.
Why did I buy a data card, when I had a Nokia 2112?
For the simple reason, that to recharge for an unlimited access on my 2112 - I would have paid 1, 500 per month - so, it made sense to pay 2 months of unlimited access and get a data card in the bargain.
But I will return to using my 2112 to surf, after I the free offer is over.
I think its wise to buy a phone to access Reliance Netconnect - because you can use a phone to talk and then use it to download stuff as well.
