My bike (Honda activa, 6 yrs old) suddenly stopped one day while going from office to home. Even after all the efforts, it did not get started. I took it next day to nearby mechanic. He said that starter coil is gone and he will repair and give it by evening.
When I checked in evening, he said that he checked at the Honda showroom and coil is not available as piece. they only sell the starter plate and coil as unit and it cost around 1000 bucks, but is not available at the moment. He will try to get it tomorrow.
Next day, when I inquired, he again said that showroom people say that it is not available in stock and has to be ordered. I myself went to the Honda showroom in Kondapur and asked for starter plate and coil for Activa, and they denied saying that it is not available. so, after 3 days finally, I decided to take the bike to showroom. with much difficulty, I had to put the bike in a auto trolley and transport it upto the showroom. I went to the mechanics there and asked them to unload the bike. It was drizzling at that time.
The showroom mechanics were not ready to hear me and asked me to goto the supervisor on ground floor. I went to supervisors, who were not very fluent in Hindi/English. Even they were not much interested in my problem. They made me just stand in front of their table, curtly saying, Sir, it is raining na. Can't you see. how can it be done. It was just drizzling.
I waited. Drizzling stopped after 5 mts. Event then, the so called supervisors were not bothered to listen. I started scolding them in Hindi, but to no effect. They were not ready to move at all, saying all mechanics are busy. We do not have time. So, I went to the manager's cabin. The manager came back and then 2 people , one watchmen and one of the mechanics came down and helped in unloading the bike. A strong display of poor customer care and apathetic attitude. Anyways, I left the bike there, filled the service form.
The bike was repaired the next day. They changed the same parts, starter coil and plate, for which 2 days back they said that there is no stock. Suddenly the stock appeared when the bike was put in their showroom. What a MIRACLE!!!.
I went to take the bike and the billing was , to no surprise, astonishing. The charge for parts changed was 1200/- whereas their labour charges were whopping 1300/-. There was one charge of Rs. 300/- for opening an air screw. God only knows what screw it is.
