One of the most dirtiest beach that I have been to. It maybe one of the longest beach in the world but it really lacks cleanliness. Maybe it is located in the main city, many people go there in the evening for relaxation. People lack civic sense and litters all over the beach. There are small vendors in the entrance of the beach who quote higher prices. Govt. should restrict the people from carrying plastics and other eatable items inside the beach area. The sea is highly polluted and unfit for bathing. This beach is dotted with many tourist places around and the best time to visit is in the evenings. It can be accessed from any parts of the Chennai city. Hotels/ Accommodation is available in Triplicane and Mylapore areas. Safety is a concern as the sea is rough, dirty and no protective gears if you are venturing into the sea for swimming.
