I had heard that City walk is one of the best footwear brands in Mumbai but it did not live up to my expectations.

On my last visit to Mumbai, I bought a pair of black sandals from City walk shoes at grant road just next to the famous store, Sheetal. One of my best friends used to work in some office at grant road and we had decided to meet after work. We were just doing some window shopping.

Personally, trendy clothes and shoes are pretty much my weakness. I have many pairs of them but I still want to see every different pattern in my closet. This is what never stops me from buying new shoes. These sandals that I bought, were smartly sitting at the top of the shelf, attracting me. I looked at the price which was Rs. 1400 and found them extremely overpriced.

But I found it hard to resist an attractive pair of sandals and just bought them. I made them pack the sandals that I was wearing and instead wore the new ones which went perfectly with my black dress that I was wearing which had made me buy those sandals in the first place. I was happy but only till the time we stepped out of the shop.

After that we went to CCD to sip a cup of coffee and spend some time. Before leaving from there I wanted to use the bathroom which was upstairs. The stairs were not like the regular ones but were artificially built of some material like steel.

And you will not believe while walking down the stairs I slipped only because the heels of the sandals were not capable enough to take a grip. For a few moments I didn’t realize what had happened but when I found myself down on the stairs I felt so embarrassing.

Every eye was looking at me as if they were pitying me or mocking at me. We just got out from there and went back to the shoe store. I was surprised to find the heels of the shoes made of some cheap light wood without even a rubber heel.

The owner of the shop was also not quite cooperative. He told me that the max that he could do was knock in a piece of rubber heel to the base.

I didn’t have much option. I knew I was cheated but I wanted a solution. Could not just throw 1400 rupees in the garbage can hence agreed to the option. The next surprise came to me when I collected those sandals from them the next day.

The rubber heel was jabardasti hooked to the wooden heel which also came off in 2 days. I still have those sandals occupying space in my closet unused. They have my mobile number and I keep receiving messages informing about their sale and about their new collections which never lets me forget them. I feel like they are applying namak to my ghav.
