I came across this book through my mother. The age where everybody is busy reading about vampires, I was apprehensive about going about with a book that none of my friends had even heard about. But little did I know that all my doubts were to be silenced for once and for all.

The book has all the elements that makes a bestseller. Revolving around love, romance, deceit, lust,  'Rebecca' not only keeps up the reader's eagerness but also makes the reader connect with life's daily insecurities and dilemma.

The story revolves around a certain Mrs. de Winter(the narrator) and her life after getting married to Maximilian de Winter, a widower. She suddenly finds herself inferior to the first Mrs. de Winter, Rebecca, who is no more. She feels that Mr. de Winter is still in love with Rebecca. Rebecca has been introduced as'Jack of all trades'. She shows her expertise in all spheres, whether it be hosting a party or managing the household. The narrator develops a low self-esteem and tries to mimic Rebecca and fails miserably. This directly affects her marriage. Just as she gives up on trying to be a better wife, a series of revelations later the tables turn.

The writing is very expressive with the minute details taken into consideration. The twist in the otherwise easy-going plot is subtle and yet so powerful that the reader is sure to get a jolt in the stomach. Once you take up this book, u sure cannot put it down until the very end.

I LOVED IT and so would you.
