I got my mother admitted for knee replacement as referred by Dr. Manjunath during Nov 2023 and got her surgery done. Everything went on smooth but during discharge, this billing team started showing true colors. Billing staff had claimed their maximum around Rs. 3, 38, 759 for one knee and the billing team asked us to pay Rs. 2, 43, 500 post Rs. 85, 000 claimed from insurance company. Since Rs. 2, 43, 500 was way far for me to arrange, we requested doctor recommendation and they gave discount and Siddhu quoted around Rs. 1, 40, 000 and signed to pay to get my mother discharge. I borrowed from several people to pay that hefty amount. Post collecting the money, Sushma - very arrogant lady, rude behavior, having unethical team like her only, instructed her team to charge still and gave me another bill of Rs. 79, 000 to discharge my mother.
First thing, they never explained the estimation post their claim through our insurance company and will keep on giving billing to discharge. Staff started making heated arguments and never gave us discharge summary or instructions post discharge. Since, I couldn't borrow any more money from anybody, I told her I have paid what was instructed and can't pay any more. Later in the evening, we requested doctor to instruct them to leave us since it was already 10:30 pm and we had to travel very far.
Who is responsible for my mother's condition as they didn't give prescription which was supposed to be taken from next day and nor did they advice on physiotherapy. Next day, my mother felt dizzy, luckily, I could contact doctor and took prescription over the phone. Actually, my friend had recommended me that doctor. Later, I got information to visit hospital for bill settlement but Sushma was not available. Another day, I went along with my mother to meet Sushma but again they made us to wait for 1 hour and never came to discuss. Madhu from insurance desk was cribbing that people get discharged and wont respond but was asking me to pay remaining Rs.30, 000, which I denied as I have paid what was instructed.
The inconvenience they caused to us is priceless. Fortis Nagarbhavi is looting people through Sushma and her team even though doctors, nurses, facility, and security staff are doing their duty, which goes unnoticed.
One can imagine how much mental torture this Sushma and her team have given us that even after 1 month I want to give a bad review on them.
