I have filed case in consumer court for the damages happened to me due to using Faber Chimney.


There is technical fault in these chimneys, it has resulted a fire accident in my kitchen.


Faber chimney is not foolproof in terms safety features.


I request all the customers not to use chimneys from Faber as the product quality is very poor, and it is very dangerous to use as at any moment it may lead to fire accidents.


Please see the photos and video I uploaded as a proof for this incident.


The Faber customer service team behaves with customers very wisely if we report any problem.


They acknowledge each and every email of yours by saying “ we have escalated your issue; it will be resolved on top priority basis”  but they don’t show any interest to see how much damage happened to you.


I bought Faber company chimney of model “Auto clean cooker Hood” Model: HOOD ELLORA 3D IN HC SC BF BK 60, SKU: 325.0690.913. on 30/03/2024 in Chennai, got installed on 06/04/2024 and started using from 15/04/2024.


On 2nd day of September 2024 , the chimney caught fire from stove instead of smoke venting out while cooking.


Immediately my wife and son ran out and escaped from fire.


The chimney got total burned off. The part of the cupboard which is next to it got burned off.


All the electrical fittings and wiring got burned off. Entire kitchen walls and slab became black with smoke and became shabby.


Immediately we poured water and bring the situation in control.


It took two days to come out of the shock.


This was happened well within the warranty period.


Faber team just sent their representative just to remove the burned chimney out, but not ready to compensate in any way.


There onwards I was contacting their customer care service team through phone calls for resolution. They dragged the issue for 2 weeks and said they can give discount of 30% on new purchase of Chimney.


Then I started writing emails to explain my condition clearly, they offered finally a discount of 50% on new purchase of Chimney as a compensation. I declined the same as I had more damages apart from chimney loss.


After vigorous follow up with my emails, Faber finally agreed to replace the chimney, but I denied as the loss happened due to fire accident was just limited to the cost of the chimney.


And also, I don’t want take risk again with Faber chimney.
