The BSNL broadband service is very bad then other service providers.
There are several types of problem like modem stops, net stops due to service very low speed then expected. For example if you have paid for 2mbps speed but you get upto 1 mbps and sometimes it drain upto 200 kbps only. But now as compared to MTS it provides very good service. The MTS has a plan of Rs.1500 / with 2-4 mbps speed and 40 gb for 20/20gb day/night repectively.
