Would like to share my worst most experience with BSNL broadband. Have been using this for more than 2 years with below average satisfaction with now and then issues and below average customer service to resolve them.
My broad band stopped working since 10th August 2012 and it is now 12 days. I raised a complaint (Shall update complaint no. soon) on 12th August (Sunday). Daily morning I reach home from office, I keep calling. Spoke to different persons, even floor supervisor Venkatesh, and also to Floor Manager Abhilaash who kept on offering me their sugar coated assurances saying technician will call you today and issue will be resolved by this evening.
But nothing happened. Till this minute the broadband is not working. Ipay them for Unlimited Service, but for half a month, I am unable to use this. I lost my valuable Rs. 400.00 because CUSTOMER SERVICE is the Worst in BSNL.
I would suggest, better surrender, and go for USB sticks. Pay little more for your reliable service and for your peace of mind. I am not a marketing executive here, so you please choose your service provider, but never go to BSNL.
BSNL cheats. You may also read my worst experience review with my BSNL no. 9445681616 where subscriptions were activated by BSNL without my consent and mney was debited. They were never refunded back.
BSNL is useless, hopeless service. Those are smart who go for private operators.

P.S. Being frustrated with BSNL cheats, I proudly use a TATA Docomo postpaid no. where everything is fair enough for the past 1 year. Service is also quite above average. No. 72000-67199
