This is the most traditional Chennai veg food eatery after Saravana Bhavan. It is situated in the busy streets of Triplicane. Ratna cafe has many branches but it started off here so better known by that name.
Food is very good, nothing exptic but very tasty. They are very well known for their liberal servings of sambar in a jug. It is served along with idlies. For those visiting Chennai for the first time, this is a must try. For those already in Chennai and havent tried this even once, please do so early.
Service is prompt and not that sophisticated. Seating is good. Parking is a big issue, you will have to park where you get a space and walk if you have a car. Bikes are readily accomodated.
Overall, the signature of Chennai!
