I had purchased Tissot T 60.1.588.51 (L890/990K) from "World of Watches" in GK-1, New Delhi India in June 2003. I was very satisfied with the watch till May this year. The brightness/contrast of the digital display suddenly faded to an extent that it takes an effort to read the display.
I approached Kapoor Time Crafter in Delhi who claim they are an authorized service centre for Tissot. The watch was accepted for repair by them in May 2007 vide Job No SQ CA7 1160.
I received the watch back vide Cash Memo No AA7 207 dated 30 June 2007 with complete repairing charges including spares, service tax and VAT of INR 2850. This repair has a one year warranty. The display worked fine for about 2 weeks and faded again. I went back to Kapoor Time Crafter for the problem. This time they returned the watch back stating that this is the maximum brightness and contrast that is possible on my watch.
Without a readable display, an analog-digital watch is of no use. I do not know what recourse do I have for getting the watch repaired.
