Now this one is what I call a typical C.S. Lewis written Fable.
The kids show presented here starts off with a boring war-fare scene where the poor kids are sent to an isolated place :-( CAGING A FREE FLY BIRD.
But when the youngest of them all, Lucy has a our into the Wardrobe (while she is on a hide and the others trying to seek her in the game) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, there goes Lucy into the world of whiteness!!!! It is pure shining white.. Looking at all the snow there, she feels there is no required christmas season out there. She fantasizes in her own way, all her love to the weather, the cleanliness, the light mist, the dew drops etc.. etc... Me, watching there from the theater began to shiver looking at the frosty climate over there. But, still I was over thrilled looking at that tiny girl’s excitement at entering into a new world that is totally possible in fantasy lands :-)
"TRUST ME, THE SNOW THERE DOESNT GIVE YOU A SNOWBALL’S CHANCE TO GET OUT OF THAT OUT-OF-THE WORLD-HEAVENLY PLACE"
How I loved it, never wanted the movie to end at that point. I wanted to navigate deep into the places there. I wanted to sit on those trees, touch the snow, enjoy it!!!! I was! Trust me I was, in my own imagination, through Lucy :-). Lucy, I loved the way your innocence took you to this strange land and your novice way of handling new things. She also made friends with a unicorn :-) Brave little girl eh?
Innocence always gives a better outlook of enjoying your life, what say people?
All this was nice-nice-yes-yes until... she had to get back to her own world and convince her brothers and sisters about her visit. I felt empathic.. if only I could help her!! God knows I couldn't, you all know I couldn't, coz I was not there in the movie !!!
Crash and burn!!!
But, still she managed to convince Susan and Peter. But, there lied a stubborn adolescent Edmund who didn't want to accept the truth. Freakish kids you see, these days, develop their own ego problems too early in life!!
That apart, there was a white witch, a very well-suited role to the lady .... on whom these kids play a war.. that takes place in a timeless manner. Very well taken!!!!!
The fable , though the script is not as per the book's standards, it shows how Edmund, Lucy,Susan and Peter stick to each other amidst odds and evens!!!!!!! That is something we can learn through the movie.
The great one , "ASLAN" taught all the viewers through the movie, that truth cant be conquered/defeated, like every other fable :-)
Watch it once to enjoy the serenity portrayed in "The Chronicles of Narnia".. The one place, which has a spell cast over to have winter always, but looks like a charm onto the place.
Ciao all!!!
Remember the mention : "How I loved it, never wanted the movie to end at that point. I wanted to navigate deep into the places there."
I did it finally, through my PS-2. It is one addictive game eh!!!
