This is to bring to your kind notice that I placed duplicate orders (#211378826646853, # 211378913050402) by mistake on Swiggy and immediately requested swiggy customer executive Mr Abhishek Kumar to cancel the order, who insisted that a cancellation fees of Rs 1759/- will be charged.
If there is a an option for cancellation on the app and if there is a genuine reason for cancellation and if it is courteously requested within a few minutes of ordering it, than why can't an order be cancelled to avoid any unnecessary food wastage.
My experience with Swiggy has been very unpleasant. This is not the first time this has happened. If there is so much hue and cry about the food wastage by Swiggy's customer care executives and force their customers to accept unnecessary orders and paying double the amount than it is nothing less than a mental harassment. Even the delivery executive was concerned about the wrong doing by Swiggy. But as a good will gesture, I went out to help the poor delivery boy and took both orders spending my hard earned money without thinking twice. Who would eat so much for a family of just 03 including an 08 year old. I knew the food would still be wasted, but I did my part as a good samaritan to accept the order and help the poor delivery person. I hope Swiggy also would have that much compassion.
