Let's accept it - eccentric or not, Singh is Kinng was a very decent movie. People loved the rustic simpleton "Lucky Singh" that was portrayed by AK. The storyline did not have much sensibility woven into it, but it did provide a watchable mishmash of events which was taken well by the audience.
Fast forward to 2015. Kinng goes Bllinng. Lucky Singh transitions to Raftaar Singh(Fun fact: Raftar Singh was a character from Singh is Kinng, portrayed by Sudhanshu Pandey in the original movie). The name got trendier, but the character went from dumb to dumber. I mean, it's okay to have some eccentricity to the characters in a comedy movie, but when the level of eccentricity is excessively high, it gets uninteresting. So we now have a*really dumb* simpleton who heads off to Goa to act as an aide for a mafia biggie. And then he bumps into an NRI bimbette who does not know a word of Hindi. And the two of them actually strike it off, via a mediator!
The comedy is mostly forced-on, but there are a few laughable moments. Screenplay has been good for the most part but the storyline has let it down. The music is mostly forgettable - except for the opening track(tung tung).
Overall, pretty drab as compared to the original Singh, and no bling at all!
