SBI rejected my credit card application for some reason. To tell you people, this is the best thing that has ever happened to me!!


I'll summarize the SBI card experience of my family/friends:

  1. Bills arrive after last date for payment. You are charged late payment fine for this delay.

  2. Transactions you have never made appear on your bill.

  3. You are charged for things like 'health insurance' which in 99% of the cases, you have not applied for.

  4. You cannot change your PIN

  5. Customer Care executives are never able to solve your problems or answer your questions.

  6. You will receive bills before you receive the card. Yes, the bills will show transactions made by you (god only knows how).

  7. Bank Employees of SBI will point you to another employee for issues or clarifications. Remember it is a government bank.

  8. Cheque drop boxes are not cleared in time. Sometimes not cleared at all.

  9. You will go through a lot of trouble and harassment in cancelling the card after all these happen.
