Value for Money:

Well Congrats to you if you are an existing user of linux and have opted in for any version of Redhat (the open source and free versions of theis are now known as Fedora Core), then you have done done a big blunder. I would recommend you to uninstall it immediately in case you dont want to hate linux for ever.

Probably world's most popular and hopeless Linux distributin is in your hand. If you are new to Linux then let me inform you about features bundled with Redhat:

  1. No mp3 player

  2. No video player

  3. Hopeless Add/Remove packages wizard, it wont actually let you remove most most of the things.

  4. Extreme slow performance, in fact I sometime feel that REDHAT comes prebundled with ''slow kar do'' module that would screw up your system. It takes like ages to open up any application.

  5. Most absurd hardware support, in fact if you have any other chipset/motherboard other than INTEL than you soundcard is 99% not going to get detected.

  6. Hopeless GUI and won't support 3D acceleration.

Overall too complicated, extreme user unfriendly, and slow OS, in fact I sometime feel that Redhat is worse than W*nd**s.

For those of you who rated this OS to be gr8 with nice GUI blah.. blah..

Try Mandriva (formerly mandrake), Novell ( formerly SuSe) or Slackware and you will probably know what the reality is and how the Redhat is a clear LOSER in the Linux race.
