We booked 2 rooms, very hesitently because its a sarkari type of hotel. the response was excellent and prompt to all our emails and calls considering .... we also got an excellent deal off a online travel site (makemytrip). its a little outside of pondicherry and beyond auroville on the east coast road (22kms) but that is its major strength.......it has an almost private beach front.
The hotel is best for those with thier own vehicle coming from bangalore because you can take a detour off to the ECR without ever entering the city.
Its loaded with outdoor games and activity options and so wonderful for a family holiday. but the cake, icing and cherry on it is the beach front...we had well propotioned and clean beach facing rooms(they were a little shoddy and undergoing repairs). they could work on thier bathrooms though!
The property is well kept and the service prompt, they immediately responded to our request when we locked ourselves out of room in the middle of the night! the breakfast spread is excellent and the best way is to eat it out near the hammocks while the beach sand is still stuck to your feet.
Have a fantastic frolic on the beach early in the morning with the sun out near the horizan and then its just a few minutes to matrimandir before it closes for the day.
