Story:

I choose this book, just because of the title " God is my CEO -Following God’s Principles in a Bottom-Line World"

Author : Larry Julian

Publication: Adams Media

Most of the western self-help, motivational and inspiring books have stories and illustrations from Bible. The bible has two major books, Old Testament and New Testament. The old testaments is more about - HOPE and New Testament is on FAITH & Belief. The books touches the management concept of career development using the faith and integrity.

Introduction : - Let Your Faith Define Who You Are

when you integrate God into your work world, pressures that were once stressful

will empower you.

*Principle 1:** Determining Your Purpose

*Principle 2:** Success Means Doing Something that Matters

*Principle 3:** It Takes Courage to Do What’s Right

*Principle 4:** Patience Provides a Long-Range Perspective

*Principle 5:** Lead by Your Actions

*Principle 6:** When Things Are Out of Control, Trust God

*Principle 7**: Between the Lesser of Two Evils, Choose Good

*Principle 8:** Servant Leaders Serve Their Employees

*Principle 9:** To Balance Employees and Profi ts, Put People First

*Principle 10:** Avoid Burnout by Putting First Things First

Under each of the principles, the author has written two inspirational stories about how God has inspired them to do differently and follow his words. There are good quotes taken from the bible.

*Bottom-Line*

I loved the following paragraph which captures the essence of the book:

Patience and bottom-line pressure are like oil and water. They don't mix. Having the patience to work a long term plan sounds great in theory, but, in reality, short term pressure often forces us to pay another game. Pressure comes from both external and internal forces. The bottom-line exception to produce, coupled with our internal pressure to succeed, takes us out of our game plan. We exhaust our energies sprinting from quarter to quarter, running a race dictated by pressure. With patience, we learn to run the race we have been called to run, in-spite of the pressure that surrounds us.
