I wanted to buy a book Web Marketing For Dummies by Jan Zimmerman. This book was available only with bookshopofindia.com, an online book shop.
Their website claims to be Exclusive Distributors for the above book. I placed the order on 12/12/2011 and made the payment online, through HDFC Netbanking. After a week, I called their customer care to enquire about the Order (Order ID: BOI 25304). I was told by them that "I am not the only customer to serve". I was shocked to hear this. The customer service guy said that he would deliver it by end of the day.
I called him up again yesterday, he bluntly says "The book is not available in our stock" - they claim to have exclusive distributorship on their site and that the money would be refunded in 4-5 days. I asked him to send a confirmation mail, again I got the same reply "You are not the only customer to service".
Too rude & arrogant.
My humble suggestion, to all the mouthshut members is not to do buy any books from this online shop. There are others like flipkart.com who provide excellent customer service. Hope the proprietors of Book Shop of India are reading this!
