Being Cyrus - A very different taste. Review on Being Cyrus

The movie Being Cyrus is based on the core dialogue ''Once the game is over the king and the Pawn will go back in the same box''.

Story narrates a parsi family with two brothers Naseeruddin Shah (Dinshaw Sethna) a clay artist and Boman Irani (Farokh Sethna) and their wives Dimple Kapadia (Katy Sethna) and Simone Singh (Tina Sethna) respectively. While the former leave at Panchghani the later couple leave at their Mumbai native home. Everything goes well till the jamshedpur lad Saif Ali Khan (Cyrus Mistry) arrives at Panchghani in to be the helper of Dinshaw.

Movie portraits Saif Ali Khan in a much finer role and one of his best yet. The family drama has invisible erotic sex appeal of Katy and her desire to occupy the Mumbai property along with her beloved (bodily) Farokh. Their old father Honey chhaya (Fardonjee Sethna) adds the philosohical angle to the drama depicting the old age helplessness.

Story line includes the laughter medicine by talkative police inspector Manoj Pahwa (Inspector maninder Lovely) with his words ''Madam ! By now you have realised that I am a man of few words''.... ''and we both know that a strength of a man is not in his words , but in his meaning''. His repeated calls for his junior ''Tam-bay'' adds little more laughter. You will find the fashion show famous (nude on stage) Carol Gracias (Girl in dream / Beggar girl).

Movie has the touch of parallel cinema flavour of philosopy where a girl recites the rhyme ''Upon the stairs I saw a man was not there... He wasn't there the other day.... I wish to god he goes away''. Movie goes on to end in a practical note and with a very different taste. Many may consider it a cross-over cinema. It is definitely worth a watch. The movie takes the era of non formula movie one step ahead. You need a soul serching mood while going for watching the movie. The adult rated movie is more because it is meaningful for grownups rather than the non existing sex display.
