How better the world would be, and how many problems will stand resolved if people could just understand each others' point of views, instead of trying, with all their might, in imposing their pseudo-intellectual opinions upon someone else. When coming to think of it, one realizes that a majority of the global issues can be resolved if people could just listen and empathise.
If you've kept your ears and eyes open, you'll come to know that whether you log on to the internet (there are unnecessary debates on forums and social networking sites resulting in feuds and controversies, thereby resulting in a far bigger problem an observer couldn't have expected earlier on), study a Corporate evironment (Peers indulging in Office Politics and trying to belittle others' hard work), or witness family issues (strained relationships, high divorce-rates, property issues), miscommunication has always had a substantial role to play in perturbing people's lives.
Misunderstandings between parties have given way to World Wars and perished economies. To crimes and infidelities. Aren't we staying in a world where we ourselves define our relationships and the environment where we belong? Isn't the latter a direct result of our behavior following our king-sized egos.
The point isn't that a compromise is possible in every situation . If it were possible, people would be patronising and encouraging India to fold hands in front of Pakistan, give away Kashmir and let the terrorists carry their bombing plans. However, in areas where there's scope for healthy relationships, we must look at things from another human being's perspective. There's still some scope for humanity. Otherwise there would hardly remain a difference between animals and uncivilized humans.
